THE EMPTY HOUSE PARTY . . . when you really want to know HOW the designers went from that to this

It takes a year or more for the Bucks County Designer House & Gardens Committee to find and obtain contracts on a suitable estate, then find and sign up the volunteer designers, landscapers, boutiques, cleaners, trash services, facilities vendors . . . the list goes on. But when February rolls around and we’re ready to start work, we clean the House and then do what any smart group does: we hold a party! Our Empty House Party is just that — a party in an empty house. But with food, drink, music, displays of what the decorators plan to create in each area, raffles, and a fun, interesting afternoon. And when you return in the spring you don’t just see the beautiful interior and landscape designs that exist now, you see the craft and problem-solutions behind those designs. So put “check the Designer House website for the February House Party notices” on your calendar now!

OPENING PREVIEW GALA – April 25, 2025

We started spring with our 2025 Bucks County Designer House & Gardens opening Gala

with great music from Teal Tuesday, our famous raw bar, more delicious food from Jamie Hollander, an open bar, and hours of enjoyment as guests toured Hidden Trail Farm, ate, drank, chatted, and danced the night away!

KENTUCKY DERBY DAY — Saturday, May 3, 2025

Congratulations to our scavenger hunt winner! In spite of impending rain, it was a wonderful day and our guests had fun searching high, low, and inbetween for our hidden glasses.

Come again next year and see what we come up with then!

MEET THE DESIGN TEAMS — Wednesday, May 7, 2025
1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

This is your chance to ask our designers and landscapers the what, whys, and hows of their area design. Why that color green? Why that planting? Where did that wonderful sofa come from? How do you keep that shrub alive? Or you can just chat with our partners: they are wonderful people who donate their time, skills, and money to this project, so come and say hello.

Hidden Trail Farm invites you to celebrate Mother’s Day with us on May 11, 2025

Watercolor artist extraordinaire, Jane Ramsey, will join us onsite for an “Art Pop Up” from 1-3 pm.

Try out multiple watercolor materials and learn more about painting outdoors. Jane is generously supplying the materials for you to create your own bespoke masterpiece.

We look forward to seeing you Sunday!

We honor our military with free entry on Memorial Day weekend, May 24 – May 25

(Click on the picture to display a downloadable/printable copy of the poster.)

We thank all current and past US service members and their families for their service and sacrifices on our last weekend by offering free entry to the military member/veteran, and to Gold Star family members. Please just present an ID as your voucher and enjoy your tour.

DONATE

OUR 2025 HOUSE BENEFITS DOYLESTOWN HOSPITAL’S EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT’S CRISIS INTERVENTION UNIT

Each year we choose a Doylestown Health project to receive Designer House proceeds, in addition to supporting the VIA’s mission in our community. For 2024, we returned to our roots and donated $184,100 to Doylestown Hospital’s Maternity Center and over $63,000 to our VIA community support committees. This year our donation will help Doylestown Hospital’s Emergency Department deliver acute care for patients experiencing high-risk behavioral health emergencies. Specialized resources are essential to provide immediate, expert care in a comfortable and safe setting. Your tour tickets and your donations will give the staff, nurses, and care team the resources to continue delivering the right care at the right time, as they’ve been doing for over 100 years.

Proceeds from the Designer House support Penn Medicine Doylestown Health and the charitable missions of the VIA.
The Village Improvement Association of Doylestown is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
